Idle problem

Hi guys got my car going in the weekend but it seems I have a problem with my idle... It will start up idle for a few seconds then just die, I can rev the motor up but have to keep it at about 3000rpm to keep it from cutting out. Any ideas? Seems like a fuel problem to me im running about 3bar ...

Hoping for a conservative 400hp im running a 3.0l mitsubishi sigma gear box (well thats the name of the vehcile where im from (New Zealand). Bolts straight up starter motor fits perfect as well. Was good I didnt have to get a bell housing adapter but im not sure if the gearbox will last.... will see ...

Quite good as it also has all the pinouts colour coded in relation to the wires on the loom.

FUEL PRESSURE REG SETTINGS

Does anyone know what a standard evo3 4g63t engine fuel pressure is? I have a after market FPR and want to set the pressure just to start the engine. I will worry about having it set up better when itgoes in for dyno etc.

Yeah had to flip the exaust manifold and change the bolt up hole pattern other than that it was all good, yeah mate would be good to see some pics of a similar build.

Its not an adjustable cam gear they are both fixed dont know why it looks like that never seen any other cam gears like it...

Cheers, yeah clears the hood but only just, hopefully the motor doesnt rock to much on acceleration.

yeah go ahead and block them off. The throttle bodies are heated to prevent ice formation when its really cold. It would have to be really reall cold for that though.

No, they are not heated to prevent ice. They have the coolant lines ran to them for the fiav(Fast Idles Air Valve). You can block ...

Wilbur: With the 4g63t in the suspension sat alot higher than what it should have so the 4g63t is alot lighter which i guess is a good thing.

77amc: thanks for your comment, the front crossmember hit the sump by about 50mm (2 inchs) as you can see in the photos i had to chop the sump gas weld it up ...

Yeah I know what you mean, I am running an aftermarket large radiator with double fans so I should be ok, (Wilbur : I am using a mitsubishi sigma gear box, Im not sure the code name for it sorry)

Yeap clears all the pulleys, I might not run a thermostat jst plug my radiator hose straight onto the water neck it what do you reakon? I will just have to put temp sensor for gauge and fans somewhere else.

Thanks, I machined the water neck on a lathe myself and then bored a hole in the head on a mill and taped it out to suit the appropriate thread.

Ok sweet cheers, The link has 34 wires in total so would be quite tidy I think, has a map sensor to run upto 22psi which should do me for the moment, also running the aftermarket comp mean I can get rid of the ugly airflow meter. Yeah Ill upload some pics just how do you do that though??[/img]

I have had a few mates do this conversion into ex lancers using the l200 gear boxes, I dont really want to have to change bell housing or make an adaptor if I can find a box that bolts straight on, Im from New Zealand and im guessing this bill guy is from the states?? HI GUYS, IM CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF PUTTING AN EVO 3 ENGINE INTO A E30 BMW (3 SERIES 1988-1991 SHAPE) I HAVENT COME ACROSS ANYONE WHO HAS DONE THIS TRANSPLANT AT ALL.

HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS DONE BEFORE? AND IF SO WHAT ARE SOME MAJOR PROBLEMS I MAY RUN INTO?
