Local mazda yard let me go through and take some measurements. They're close, but not exact. Turns out the RX7 TII has the longest (exposed) shaft and splines of those I looked at. It's been confirmed that the 929 is shorter, and the MPV manual R trans is rare item.

I'm working on a OE bolt in solution to put the R trans in my FE-dohc (FE3) powered Miata. I've currently got a Bongo van bellhousing with a Turbo II transmission bolted up, but the input shaft is too short to sufficiently engage the clutch disc splines.
