WoW.
That is pretty nice. Is there a major weight difference in the two different engines? I would think the LS would be a lot heavier, although it does have a LOT of aluminum parts, so maybe it isn't as heavy as I think.
Solid motor mounts too huh? That is pretty bold. I would think that car is going to go like hell and shake your eyeballs out in the process.
Keep the progress pictures coming, I am dying to see how this turns out. I might just need one of those engines for my 64 Impala Convertible....hmmm

ive driven a few modded ls1's i didnt find them very torguey compared to say a regular 350 or a small block ford. they remind me of a ford mod motor they screem in the upper rpm range but kinda stale down stairs.
still a bad ass swap tho those motors love the giggle gas
good luck man keep us updated

I would look at an aftermarket transmission instead of the T56. The T56 is great, but you might want to look at speed and gearing to be the most desireable thing. For the price of a used T56, you could get a Nash or Tremac 5 speed. For drifting, I don't see you getting out of 3rd gear. (maybe I'm wrong) And if you're sticking with the 240SX rear end, you might be limited by gear ratios and I'm sure you have some cash into that already. I think an LS1 car would be great for drifting. Look at the Mustang, Viper and GTO (LS1 or LS6?) success in drifting. Is it going to be ready for this season?

Badass. V8's are the real deal, and I am happy to see an LS project.

did you ever dyno and get the 400 hp you were hoping for? being an LS1, if it's not at 400hp, it must be pretty damn close.

The 1JZ looks good in there. But a 4G63 would look better
I'm sure the 1JZ bottom end can make 400hp reliably and they are pretty cheap right now. A 4G63 could make that same power with a mild build and should be pretty reliable. And the 4G63 has the hot side like a 1JZ so the "brake stuff" and steering would still be out of the way.

yuk.... why not an sr? or an rb? or even better... vh45! 4.5l nissan v8 that has 300hp/300tq and revs to 8k STOCK! and its the bassis for a lot of the old nissan indy car motors. sorry for the rant but cross-breeds kinda bother me.... heres a link to a guy i know that did it.

vh45 is all aluminum. and im not hating... your doing a good job. and a lot of those cross-breeds are just that because they have to be, or its cheaper to have a different company make a motor for them. i dont know if your interested in this or not but i heard somewhere once that they dont allow crossbreed cars in formula-d. and the last thing i have to say is... thank god your not still putting a damn small block in it! haha!! good luck!
