I dig it. You have a lot to do on the second car, it's in rough shape. Good luck!

What kind of transmission is that? It looks really short. Some kind of 4 speed? Or is that an adaptor plate and you're running the stock Mercedes transmission?

Yes there original Merc gear box short 1 is 4 speed (mounted in my daily drive) long 1 is 5 speed (will be put in my project car)

Some information of about DOGLEG GETRAG 5 Speed EVO gearbox. This gear box is best gear box ever for W201 models and model code is 717.404 there is rate of Toyota R154 and Merc 717.404
Gear ratios R154--------------- Getrag dogleg
I: 3.250:1------------- I: 4.08;
II: 1.955:1------------- II: 2.52;
III: 1.310:1 ------------- III: 1.77;
IV: 1.00:1------------- IV: 1.26;
V: 0.753:1 ------------- V: 1.0;
R: ------------- R: 4.16
Therefore The 717.404 gearbox i hope can beat R154 especially for Drift
About my conversation of plate

it is hand welding adaptor plate for specially Merc 717.*** series gear boxes

Result of my plan daily drive become powerful and economical also comfortable. Main target is fuel consumption, only for daily drive why ? reason is my 1st SOHC SWAP fuel consumption got very high almost 20 L per 100 Km in city. (But for my future project W201 fuel consumption not important for the project IS Powerful Speedy also Good better tuned car)

Therefore plz share your minds openly. I be happy to your consults. Tnx

Several have cut the intake flange off the normal side and welded it on the other. I had several so just cut one off an intake I wasn't using.
