I didn't realize that I haven't posted this up in here yet. Started on this back in Febuary/March. Here's the rundown:

Engine/fuel:
-Crower 272 cams
-Holset hx35 w/bep .55 housing
-Hafe SS manifold
-TiAL 38mm
-Bosch 044/Aeromotive filters
-12gal rci cell
-Rear mounted battery

Drivetrain:
-th350 trans/10" Neal Chance converter
-Bill Hincher adapter
-8.8 rear out of '96 Explorer w/disk brakes traction lock diff
-3" steel driveshaft/1350 solid universals/Moser billet trans yoke

All of the fabrication was done by myself except for the modded intake manifold. Anyhoo, here are some pics of the truck currently, I am hoping to fire it up this month sometime.

Here is everthing mocked up on the engine stand, I am running a hotpipe(no intercooler).

That looks awesome, but as I have those same exact coils, youll have problems withthem unless you run a CDI box of some sort, otherwise youll have a terrible spark blow out problem over 5psi like I did.

I also managed to blow the tanks off the stock radiator... not saying you will, but I did.

And a quick note on the hot pipe setup... when boosting 5-10psi on a hot summers day youll have an oxygen starvation problem, I have noticed that even with my intercooler I still see Intake air temps clear up into the 200's under high prolonged boost episodes.

What engine management will you be going with?

The cop issues seem to be on a car to car basis, the car this particular one came off of ran the coils only w/o any issues. I am running dsmlink, as for the hotpipe, I don't forsee any issues as I will also be running water/methanol injection. I plan to run an all aluminum rad, but I never had any issues with my old 4g63 truck, you may have been pushing coolant.

i like it! great work man. only thing i would do differently is the ic but to each there own. you gonna run e85? i had the 300m coils on my 1g making in the 350whp area on pump with no issues. i then put them on the conquest and anything more than 17psi they would crap out. so im going to agree with the car to car basis.

I will be running e85 along with a progressive w/i system. I would also like to change over to speed density, once I do that, I will probably run two nozzles, one right after the turbo and one up near the t-body.

well I cant get anything above 5psi with over 12mS of dwell with the 300m coils... but I can accept an on car basis.

e85 is great in these things, lol but you begin watching the fuel gauge drop instead of watching the speedo climb... or at least I do...lol
I can get anywhere from 15 MPG clear down to 0.15 MPG with the e85 depending on how far my foot is into it.

and yes I do mean 0.15 MPG...the tank holds just over 13 gallons bone dry, I drive 20 miles to work and 20 miles home for 2 days and the tank is dangerously empty by the time I get home the second day... but it sure was fun getting there :P

Maybe I need to take her on a drive to nebraska or something just to check fuel mileage on the highway at a steady (legal) speed

Time for some updates. I sold my modded 1g intake manifold and picked up a JMF race smim with custom-length runners. I also had Jim weld on a cast elbow since my Miller tig welder is not set up in the garage yet. I also built a completely new hotpipe, it is currently just tacked together and I am waiting on the stainless TiAL bov flange. Here are some pics:

Thanks Bill. Still waiting on the bov flange, but I did get the hotpipe welded and the bungs welded to the hotpipe, now I just need the bov flange and some beads welded to the ends. The two 1/8 npt bungs are for water/meth injection nozzles(one right after the compressor outlet and one right before the t-body) and the 3/8 bung is for a gm iat. Here's how they look so far:

Time for an update. The truck runs, started it up last week. I do have some leaks that need to be addressed, but the trans seems to be working properly. Here are some pics of it when I pulled it out of the garage:

Any updates? I have been thinking about running a very similar set up in my mightymax (W/I, E85, no IC)

Have you driven it in traffic yet? What did your temps look like in relation to the ambient tempts? (AIT, coolant and EGT)
