first of all thanks for everyone posting all the great info on this site.
We inherited (if you will) an 88 D50 4x4 and I have always wanted to do the swap so I just did it..
Some info and pictures
got the truck for free so I was off to a good start. had a 2.6 with a whole in the block so I got a 4g64 wideblock out of the junk yard and I am going to do the DOHC swap ending with a 2.4 stroker (kinda.. I mean there isn't really any change to the stroke.. lol) Turbo 4X4 truck..
I havn't decided on how much power I am going to go for in this truck for many reasons (Trans, Time, Money, other projects..) but I got some wiseco's and PMP forged rods. Block is at the machine shop right so when I get it back I will post more pictures.
Oh wait.. Just making room for the Water outlet and CAS..
More Engine Shots
Just a little test fit-
Custom Box for the whole I cut..
Ok so the oil pan hit the front diff so I had to cut part of the pan out of the 2.6 and fab it into the 2.4 pan.. Major PITA!!!
I didn't take a picture of the pan but this is the original I hacked part of it out..
Pretty cool to see that the wide block also has the main cap girdle. Is it also a 7-bolt? Can't wait to see this on the road. I'm also curious to see how much power that drivetrain can handle.
Do it in a Datsun!
1972 Datsun 510
7-bolt 4G63T, EVO 9 pistons and rods, Garrett GT3076R, "flipped" stock intake, Toyota R154, Z31 R200 w/ CVs

Yeah it WAS a 2 week build.
Yes it is a 7 bolt. This car isn't my race car so I am not going to beat on the power terrain to much but yeah.. bitchin swap for sure [/b]
