1st Gen D50 4GXX Swap

Post by remarque »

Hello everyone, I got an 1983 Dodge Ram 50 Sport about an month ago. I plan on swapping a 4G61, 4G67 or 4G63 N/A version but cant find a 4G63 swapped 1st gens. I know there was one guy on mightyd50.com but that site is down.

I know I need 2.0 mounts and narrow block transmission, but I wanna know if Im going to have interference with the firewall or any other problem I might run into with the 1st Gens body.

check out WWW.Mightyram50.com or Hotrodcoffeeshop.com also.

Tons of info for the trucks.
I think one of the guys here was selling a narrow truck trans. It was a couple of months ago.
And I believe you can look in the yards for any 4g63'b' truck Mitsu or Dodge and get your short block there. Then just add the turbo dohc head and such.

BTW, the 4g67 is a 6cyl i believe..

A 4g67 is not 6cyl. The 16-valve DOHC 4G67 displaced 1836 cc. Bore x Stroke 81.5 x 88mm

No turbo I'm staying N/A because its going to be my DD. I got lucky and found a Hyundai Elantra with a 4G67 in it at the local pull a part. Wish I would have found it before I ordered a 4G63 wiring harness off Ebay, but I did get the wiring harness and ECU.

I'll start a build thread soon.
