so i have had this car since december of last year and in the first 8 months all i did was pull the motor and tranny. i knew i was not going to put a rotary back in it(too expensive and not enough power) but my first though was to go v8. But all my other fast cars have been mitsubishis. (95 gst, starion, 91 tsi awd, 4g63t 90 colt) I loved the colt but all it did was peel tires to 90 mph. so i have made my decision 4g63t my 79 rx7. well why not close to 50-50 weight, 2300 lbs no emissions, lsd, and i am shooting for 450hp. should be tons on fun. so far i have: pull the old motor and tranny, deloomed the old harness and deleted all the engine control wires, and started on my dsm harness. so wish me luck. here are a couple of pictures.

Im very interested in this swap. I have a 85 rx7 that needs to be fixed and it will cost me in the 1k ball park range for just parts. I have a fully built 4g63 however that was supposed to go into my awd spyder. Can we see better pictures of the motor mounts possibly. thats the only thing im kinda concerned with on mine. Did you have to modify the trans tunnel any? and are you able to shift with it that far up? Looks really good so far though.

its alive

well its not %100 but its full with gas. taking it to get inspected and hopefully registration.

sorry it has been so long 1126eclipse but i had to cut out the cross-member and a little on the angle off of one mount. then used pieces for a awd motor mount and welded them in place i will try to find some better pics of it
