Looks good Otto. This is Patrick by the way. I should get pics of the mustang up soon on this site. Ford vs. Chevy should be fun next year (hope my car will be ready sometime next year).

Looks good Otto, I'd love to come up and see the car in person.
I was not aware that there were this many rwd swap popping up in the area, all of them will be running automatics too.

Very Nice keep us posted on your progress, lets talk converters once you get it running. A close freind of mine is building a very similar set up and we've heard many differnt theorys on stall speed.

I have read up on stall speed over on the turbo forums. From what I gathered over there and from others running the 4g63 with an auto, you have to have a way to build boost to get up on the converter all the way(which you probably already know). Are you going to use n2o Otto? Btw, is that a BW turbo on there? If so, what size/series? I am going to guess an s475. Look nice sitting in there.

We just have been talking to Anthony with the Rail car from PA and Kevin Jewer a local from NH that has the blue RWD talon. Im Not sure what Anthony is using now but his 1st attempt was a 3500 stall only netting like 3-4 psi at the line. Since then i think hes canged it because the cars gone much faster 7.xx. Last year Kevin was using NO2 to load the converter on a gt42 and it worked but didnt seem to be consistant. HE was also on about a 3500 stall. He now runs a compound turbo set up that seems to work quite well he can make 50PSI on the brake.

There was a racer eating everyone witha Buick V6 that had Co2 ported right at the ex fins of the hot side and since it expands around 70 Times he would have INSTANT off the line power.
From what I remembered reading, he said that the 'tank' was part of his fire extinguisher system to get past tech..

car is up and running, biggest issue is i can not get on the converter its stalling at 3k,and power comes on at bout 6,so i am going to give it a 50shot down low,to see if that will wake it up.

1/8 mile testing ,resulting in a best 5.78@122.23 with a 1.37 60ft,also made some 5.8x ,5.9x passes and a bunch of low 6.0x passes, this is all on low boost and a very safe tune.

Awesome! Was this still using nitrous to spool on the converter?

Judging by the previous 1/8th times/mph and the 1/4 mph did you let off or is there some converter tuning to be done on the back half? Only 21mph on the top end, regardless awesome work!

No nitrous at all, but i need to update the mod list alittle.
Car has a gt4094r turbo, an air to air intercooler and bc280 cams now.
The s380 turbo would not get on the converter even with a decent shot of nos.
Cars not making aton of power, roughly 600whp. Its a little lazy on the big end but we contribute that to a small .95 a/r housing 3" exhaust (about 2 1/2' long) and the fact it was 95 degrees out didnt help. 600whp and 2500lb car the traps about where it should be, it just leaves on power and stays in it all the way down the track.

Also this motor is all off the shelf budet parts , hyundia crank/ eagle rods/ ross pistons/ cometic hg/bc cams.

The badboy motor will go in when this one gives up.

Thanks guys

Awesome to hear! I am in the process of putting together a notchback with a basic eagle/weisco 2.3 and either s362 or s366 and a th350. Good to know the strokers will build boost on the line with no n20.

Any chance you could shed a little more light on the converter you had made?

Put a hood on that thing. I bet you gain a little something on the big end. Great job though man. How cool is it to 60 foot in the 1.3s by letting go of a button?

The converter is a precision industries, just told them what i needed and got lucky.

The hood was actually on for the quarter mile pass, joliet is pretty strict and the transbrake is awesome. Every car should come stock with one. :D
