I love it. Keep this updated. How did you mount the engine in place? How is the firewall clearance?

Cool project

Looks good. Are they solid mounts? Or is there a rubber/poly insert in there? Curious about trans location. Any extra info you can provide would be awesome.

Poly inserts...

The motor/trans is moved forward 4 inches (using a plate on the stock trans mount ) so i dont have the fight the tstat or cas firewall clearance, also made the motor mounts much much easier

Very interesting, I would have thought the darts weigh more than that. You are running a wideblock?

the '75 i dig, but the '68 kinda bums me out. but then, im a big Mopar guy, and the idea of the 68 with the 4G doesnt meld well in my mind.

+1 on keeping us updated, definatly unique build.

I am a huge mopar fan as well. This is actually my 5th 1968 Dodge dart. Not to high jack this thread. I just have all the bits handy to throw in it. I also have a couple of big blocks as well.

I wouldn't make any mods that couldn't be reversed.

FANTASTIC MAN!!

I couldn't sleep and decided to 'surf'.. Man this is what I needed! I'm on vacation this week and hope to actually get my 77 Hornet in my shop to start pulling the drive train out and start measuring. (its a rear sump though.. I've got a theory.)

So whats' the skinny on your motor specs?

AND, I just modded my motormounts in my civic 4dr and noticed a BIG difference in vibration. How does the dart feel with those fine motor mounts in yours?
What about the trans mount? Poly-custom also.

Did you do the balance shaft delete kit in yours?

what color is the block? it looks like hemi orange....which would be a good choice on an old mopar. if it was a 2.6 instead of a 2.3 stroker you could call it a "hemi" like with the old k cars with the 2.6. a 4 cylinder pushing 500+ hp is not gonna be as bulletproof as those nearly indestructible slant 6's but with all that power and the low-end punch of a stroker crank it should make a very livable daily driver and you will probably get gas mileage comparable to the original powerplant (when you keep your foot out of it).

definitely a sleeper project i want to see finished. my parents had a 70 dart w/ manual 4 wheel drum brakes. it was on the road for years and years after they sold it. hope you upgraded the brakes and installed big sway bars so it can handle all that power. my guess is you do a lot of city driving or plan to drag race. i would have gone with a stick in such an outrageous ride, but to each his own! keep up the hard work!

by '75, all Abodys had big bolt pattern drum brakes, and i think almost all of them had power assist. i have heard of odd-balls that made it out of the plant with leftover drums and even small bolt pattern stuff, but it was supposed to be all worked through by then

What engine management are you using? I am assuming AEM but if it is Link I would love to know how you have the 2 step set up.

Awesome Car!
