my friend told me about this site ( he is doin a 4g 240sx) and well my project is not nearly as crazy butt I figured Id share it ....
Its a 95 eagle talon tsi with a 6bolt motor and evo 3 tranny with a 2g bellhousing , welded center diff and I took apart the front axels and left the passenger side axel cup in the tranny and bolted up the half shaft on the driver side ....then bolted in the outer cups into the spindels to keep the bearings from coming apart.........then I realized my talon didnt have a vlsd because it has abs......so I talked a buddie out of his vlsd rear diff and axels
and it swapped right in . the car has plenty of power for drifting ,Im using a keydiver chip ,safc2,wally255,680cc injectors,afpr,act clutch/flywheel
water/meth injection and its now lowerd like 3in on super stiff coilovers
and Im currently using a 14b turbo as it spools super fast and makes plenty of power @ 23 psi for rwd
Ive been beating the crap out of it for like 2 months with no problems ...I just went to my first drift event at the track and was pretty happy with the results ......alltho my clutch is kinda worn out from the awd days and was slippin a little bit in 3rd... and Im kinda thinkin about welding the rear diff because the vlsd is a little slow locking up
butt Im def really stoked about drifting my talon ...Ive got a lot to learn about drifting and how to better setup my car for it..so any advise would be great

If you're just going to weld the rear diff, you might swap your friend back. That way you're not ruining a good part. Also, the 14b is not going to hold up long at 23psi. Do you get that much boost at redline? I'm sure you know your DSM stuff, but the EVO3 16g is an awesome turbo especially if you need the quick spool.

What chassis mods have you done other than lowering it to handle drifting? I don't know how it will hold up, but the weight balance on the DSM isn't ideal. Most of the weight is up front. Way up front. I'm sure you can get the car under 3k lbs with proper safety equipment, but weight might be your enemy. Although, power makes up for some of that

Take care of that transfer case and the car should be fun. You might try an oil cooler or something to help improve its chances of survival.

He has an oil cooler. He blew his 16G already. The 14B has actually been holding up for awhile now. 20+ PSI No spike and it may barely go down to 22... Also running methanol for low EGT's.

We all know the weight distribution isnt ideal. The point is that it is something different. Also everybody says that it will not hold up... The clutch is what has gone first.

How's the steering angle on that?

the steering did improve after pulling the front axels butt its stil not as good as ...say a 240sx... butt over all Im really impressed on how well It drifts
Depending on how things go I might do some modifications for more steering angle


And yea I blew my b16g the first night I took it out drifting, butt It has seen 6mo of 28psi so.......it was gonna happen anyway..and the 14b with the 7cm turbine housing and adjustable wastgate actuater pulled very tight holds 22-23psi very well... Ive got a brandnew 60-1 turbo setup sitting in my house butt dunno if Im gonna use it because it will kill the spool time and I think that will suck for drifting
