I dont know much right now about this stuff, but I'm definatly looking into it for both the racecar and eventually the street car. I know that 89onaquest or wahtever his name had a friend who gave up in frustration becuase he couldnt figure it out.

I might go ahead... maybe this week and buy all the stuff to build one and just start experimenting.

If you dont know what MegaSquirt is, then read up. Its pretty neat. Home made Fuel Management System. You can even add spark now too I think. So its full standalone for the cost of labor and about $200 in parts. A great winter project.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

Hrmmm.. 9000 limit... 20lb limit on boost. That REALLY makes me say no now. Maybe there will be a better method in the future, but the EDIS is still pretty weak IMO.

I plan on 8000rpm and 25+ psi on my 2.4. Racegas and all that jazz.

The "20 psi" (actually 2.5BAR = ~22PSI) is a limit only of the MAP sensor included, has been frequently swapped out for a 3BAR unit.

The EDIS has reportedly been working up to 10.5KRPM, and there are lots of other ignitition options with MS&S.

I'm going with MS + EDIS with my g54b MPI conversion. Very good bang for the buck.

What stand alone system includes all of the ignition goodies for that price (ie, coil packs, trigger wheels, sensor etc)?
