$600... you have to buy the T56... 93-97 Camaro/Firebird with LT1 is the donor. Silky smooth bulletproof 6Speed!!

I think it comes with aluminum spicer yolks for a STRONG aluminum driveshaft.... if you go with 4.11:1 gears and get some beefy halfshafts you will have a wicked slingshot!... then youre limits will be the differential casing and clutchpacks!!!
But that's off topic really.
I've messaged Chad and he's interested in developing it for the 2.0 as well as the 2.6 he's already put together (and hasnt run yet....) on his car. If he gets a reliable kit for a good price for what you get, we might arrange a GP here.
Expensive... probably $2000+ in the end.. but it means a BULLET PROOF 6 speed drivetrain from the motor to the differential. You'll have to spend $20,000 or more to make a motor that could break it... and when that happens its only $2000 or less and you can get dog gears that are even crazier!!!
Who could seriously raise the cash to do this? It is a good investment in that it has TONS of aftermarket and will be around for years to come. Its refined, strong... you'll probably spend upwards of $1000 anyways to get a W58 to work.. Starion tranny or D50 tranny might last a few months or years... but they're 5 speeds and comparativly notchy and even they cost about $300 or more to use.
GM upgrade parts are cheaper and STONGER than alot of the stuff offered for DSMs

headers crack all the time. how many people have posted about their stock header that is cracked, or it warped and broke the last stud, so now they get to heli-coil it.
engine fire happens cause something leaks like injectors. if your fuel ral isn't secured or injectors aren't seated properly, i can see fuel spraying all over. then fire.
anyway, if i had plans to stick around for a while, i'd be down for this, but i need to save money for travel/moving. the only things that would be a problem is if things down line up perfectly. like the centerline of the tranny shaft to the flywheel center.
as long as the adaptor plate is flat, that shouldn't be an issue. and i think he is getting these made somewhere, and not just welding something himself. like he said, he's gonna get 2 working prototypes before selling anything. there will be R&D.
and, look at it like this: at least someone is doing something for real. not just saying, "i wish someone made a 6 speed for this car."
so, be happy!

My experiences with Chad's work isnt too well either. The hillclimb car i worked on had a stock manifold modified for MPI and it had a custom fuel rail. It was really a piece of junk. Hard to work on, etc.. just not thought out.. over engineered into oblivian sort of thing. So I see that point.
So what are our options of the 6speed? I think its is almost a requirement for us making big power. If you want to develop something get started NOW. I have $600 budgeted into a way to adapt a T56 to this car. Make something and proove it and I'll help you sell a dozen. I'll take one myself.. need it by May.
Get started. I think there is still a prize on here for a good transmission that is proven to work and is strong.
$2500 isnt too much to pay for a crazy strong drivetrain if you ask me. That would include everything from flywheel to torque tube and would be good to 500hp. Would also be nice if you could use BOTH bolt patterns with it. Or hell.. more than that even. I want to see somebody make an adapter plate for RWD people in general. SR20 guys would probably be interetsed too.
I'm rambling. WE NEED A STRONG TRANSMISSION!

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

I'm working on it! I want to get free prototypes. I'll test it all myself to see if its within my specifications using indicators that are good enough for the space program.
