In the FAQ on this site (and from Kane) it says that the G64B is a 2.4L WIDEBLOCK only! But in the list of Mitsubishi engines it has the G64B as both a wideblock and a NARROWBLOCK 6-bolt.
Can someone confirm (as in seen it, measured it) one way or the other?
Thankx, David.
Is the G64B available as wideblock and narrowblock ?

check out the third line down from the pink line at the bottom of the engine list on this site at http://projectzerog.com/mitsubishi_engines.shtml
unless there is an error it is a G64B narrowblock in a 84-87 Galant
I'm not trying to argue...I'm just trying to confirm before I buy one.

The only difference is whether it is a 6-bolt or a 7-bolt which is determined by the number of bolts on the transmission side of the crank shaft. You can also tell by the oil pan right under the harmonic balancer on the crank shaft. If the pan has a dip in the pan under the balancer then it is a 7-bolt. A 6-bolt is flat.
