G63's and wideblock 4g64's...

I've got a salvage yard right down from my neighborhood full of mitsus! I'm sure finding a 4g64 wideblock won't be hard but what is involved with fitting the dohc head on it? And the G63B...whats involved in putting the 4g63 head on?
I'm parting out my MPI set up because I'm sick of this engine! I've had a 4g63 running 7.3's consistent (on C16) w/ zero problem and currently my starion is running 8.0's (on pump) and its constant head gasket issues.
I've already got a HD clutch and light flywheel (240mm) so I'd like to keep this and finding a wideblock would be the way for me to do this!

Which mpi setup are you currently running on the g54b? maybe we can work out a swap for some stuff, I've got all kinds of 4g64 crap laying around here. Was gonna hybrid the green car since the engine went south, but if I can snag an mpi setup, maybe i'll still build the extra g54b engine to stick back in it.
Hey man, this is Mr. BHG from starquestclub, you were supposed to be coming to my house last weekend for the meet.
I've got "Chads' intake and SDS EM4-F system.

What kind of 4g64 stuff?

I've got a couple of complete SOHC engines laying around, 1g and 2g DOHC heads, all stock stuff. I'm not sure what I want to do with the green car at this point. Rebuild the g54b, or swap in a 4g64. If I go g54b, I want to do an MPI setup. But since I'm basically starting from scratch with either, I think the 4g64 is a better choice. Just reallly don't want to be doing 2 engine swaps at the same time.

With the wideblock you can do BOTH the RX7 and the Starion transmissions as well as whatever else came on the wideblock trucks (KM132 4WD) or on the B2600 (4WD). Think about it

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
I was so excited I wasn't thinking deeply about it. Only reason we'd use the bellhousing from the mazda that bolted up to the mitsubishi is now obvious, the bellhousing unbolts for the mazda shit, but the mitsu shit doesn't. Just wasn't thinking clearly.

Something I haven't figured out 100% yet is the flywheels. They "look" identical. But one has g54b cast into it, the other has 4g64 cast into it. I don't understand why they would do this if they are EXACTLY the same. My first thought was that they were balanced differently, but both of these engines are supposed to be internally balanced. Second thought was different total weight because of the different running characteristics of the engines. ie: one is low compression turbo=low low end torque, the other is higher compression "truck"=lots more low end torque. But I'm really just guessing. They probably done it cause they knew I'd sit here and try to overanalyze it
And I would entertain the thought of trading some stuff for that mpi intake. Just let me know just how much stuff you'd have to have for it. Just remember, everything that I have that is up for trading material, is stock stuff. ie: intakes not modded, no turbo ex manifolds, heads need worked, pistons are all 2 valve, etc.

My 4G64 and G54B flywheels differ with the clutch bolt pattern. There are also some holes drilled in my 64 one that I'm not going to worry about.

It should work great. I'm going with the 240mm Fidanza eventually too. And I've only ever had my hands on 88 parts so anthing else I dont have a clue about.
