Explorer Rear End

Is there any serious issue with running one, as the diff is offset around 2" to the passenger side. I think it would be ok, as that rear end finds homes in tons of other cars, but I'd like to check with someone who knows.

I have the complete engine oil pan to valve cover, with the alternator.. Its out of my mighty max. ran really well when removed. 36x,xxx miles. 2 things though


1)I live in South Florida and have no idea how to ship it

Check the tag on the rear cover of the differential. All the Mighty Max's left the factory with it, but if it's missing, check the trim tag that's attached to the firewall in the engine ...

i actually spoke to a guy today regarding an adapter, not ideal, but for less than $100 with evo manifold and throttle body to work on one of our cars its might be a solid inbetween stock and SMIM. I'll let you know what happens over the next week or 2

i believe that the engine is a non-interference setup. I'll double check my manual when i get home, but if it was just a broken timing belt, then you should be able to just slap a new belt on and be good to go.

i believe your terminology is off.

Typically a "long block" is any engine from oil pan to valve cover(s) which may or may not include accessories. Sometimes intake or exhaust manifolds will still be there depending on who you are buying from.

"Short Block" typically refers to oil pan to just under ...

i know 240's(sr20det) do not use flex pipes in the exhaust. i believe typically you'll start to see more flex pipes in exhaust when you are dealing with tubular manifold to help alleviate stress and additional weight on an already weak (relatively speaking) point.
