What class let's you completely modify the drive train, and not run a power adder?
please post what class you are building this car for? The fact the you didn't realize you couldn't run a oem turbo on the car suggest that you are unfamiliar with the rules you are building to.

Explorer Rear End
Is there any serious issue with running one, as the diff is offset around 2" to the passenger side. I think it would be ok, as that rear end finds homes in tons of other cars, but I'd like to check with someone who knows.
thanks in advance.

i believe your terminology is off.
Typically a "long block" is any engine from oil pan to valve cover(s) which may or may not include accessories. Sometimes intake or exhaust manifolds will still be there depending on who you are buying from.

honestly if you want cheap fast and not a lot of work, just spray the car with one of the idiot proof nitrous kits on the market. a little 40 or 50 shot would make you smile and be cheaper than trying to make weird bolt ons for a redheaded step child of an engine.

i know 240's(sr20det) do not use flex pipes in the exhaust. i believe typically you'll start to see more flex pipes in exhaust when you are dealing with tubular manifold to help alleviate stress and additional weight on an already weak (relatively speaking) point.
