Most of them have too much wear to bother with and it's not LONG enough
to take-up the slack from elongated holes & worn-out clevis pins, too.

WHAT...you might want to know:

There are no "electronics", at all, cept:

82-93s, 700R4 used a conversion part that John's Cars (Dallas Tx)
(214) 426-4101 sells for $115.

We change-out a electrical part, that allows the convertor to lock via RPM.

A 3 year old can change-out that part. :roll ...

ELECTRICAL

You'll need a BETTER ground, like some 88/89s had.
2 gauge Negative Cable that grounds the BODY first,
then onto the block.
83-87 used a 4 gauge, 88-89s some got a 3 gauge. :roll:

A shorter answer: 88 Starquest had a "recall", to replace the rod bearings.

I could only suppose, the ANY EVO, would have done the same...or at
least issue a "TSB" over a factory fault.

Remember, there is a , left-foot rest pad, built into a Starquest.

Very few "crank-walk" was due to a poor design.

Mitsu...is HUGE! Remember WWII? The "Zeros" plane?

Usually...4wd, mainshaft is very short, compared to a 2wd tranny.

Also, the ADAPTER/UNION would need to be a bolt-on, to both
the trans & transfercase. (if you want it to be a 4wd)

Steel-to-steel WILL corrode. None of those products will DESOLVE
rust/corrosion (in a matter of minuets) like the acid does.

In a A/T, they are usually a SLIP-FIT, but RUST is the problem.

One gallon of Muratic acid is about $7.50, sold at pool supplies.

With a brush, apply Muratic acid and keep it damp with the acid.

Better to nose-down, your block. (like into a spare tire & rim x2 or x3)

If/when, you decide to, custom build a system....DO NOT, make
a typical, stupid move!

Remove the battery!

Use a LOW-AMP battery charger @ 2amps, to test your system & volts.

That way, you won't FRY, your ECU & harness...IF, you had built a fault.

As I recall...Starquest had TWO, 12v, power ...

Just so you know...the ecu uses 12v to power itself.

Very often, the GROUND, has it's own wire, routed,
as far-away as the battery cable.
On a Starquest, it's a mid-splice, (on the apron)

However, the ECU reduces the voltage, positive & negative
when sent & RECEIVED ...

This is a VIBRATION ABSORBER, attached to the engine crossmember on late 80s & early 90s VW, Corrado, G60, supercharged.

The VR-6 Passet had one 3 times this size attached to a large, flat area on the engine crossmember.

Agreed. I write the instructions, right on the pan with Magic Marker. :lol:

Just use a LETTERD drill bit (forgot the size :oops: ) and a centering, transfer punch, cause the pan is already drilled for dowel pins.

Many trans builders stoped using a gasket and GLUED the pan on. :shock:

The very first attempt was to TRANSPLANT the pan to ANOTHER transmission. (which failed :roll: )

The center-to-center bolt pattern was NOT consistant ENOUGH so we went to DOWEL PINS to keep the TWO PARTS LOCKED TOGETHER.

And...it is CHAMPHER (on the top-side at 6 o'clock & 12 o'clock) so removing ...

6 bolt crank is going to be "better" if not stronger due to larger journals.

I suggest you build your own harness. I'm sure you've got all the parts and supply catalogs at your disposal to build a clean one from scratch.
