I'm going to throw this out there but don't shoot me if I sound like an idiot. As I understand it you have already built a t56 housing for the narrow block 4g63 buys and they tended to use the AWD flywheel since it was smaller. Since the 4g63 and the 4g64 use the same parts, why not keep things ...

Hey Bill, won't the shifter be in the back seat on the t-56?

Ever seen the shifter on a 60's Cobra? Gansta. Actually, since I moved my seat back in the car (I'm 6'3") its kind of a reach to the stock shifter for me anyways, moving it back would actually help me to shift faster.

I'm sure there is since dsmers use them with the stock tranny's all the time.

The D50 block is likely a wide block. You need to measure your top bellhousing bolts from your Starion and find a block with the same measurement. (i think it's 13.25")

I think the auto tranny 4g63 is wideblock and manual tranny is narrow block. I got lucky and pulled a 4g63 wideblock turbo ...

Re: 4G6x Hatin'

Been a lot of 4g swap bashing on SQC lately. We need some numbers and driveability reports. You'd think some of these guys eat, sleep, and breathe G54B like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Look on my web site http://starion.mrbdesign.com.au see "4G63 SOHC 8 valve" for information on the Sirus engine. All Starions sold in Australia had the "Sirus" 4G63 SOHC engine.

We don't have to swap the 4G63 because we already have one :D
We just concentrate on installing the DOHC head ...

Waaasup mainstream! :lol: . Yeah, switching to a turbo motor without a turbo must have been slower than stock. That motor is pretty clean except for the t-belt tensioner which came apart. I think that's the reason they dumped the truck :lol:

This is the reply i got from mainstream from the starquest forum;

yes indeed it is. Squirters are a definate for a turbo motor. The g63b tubo came in all starions outside of the US. I hope you got the head too. I'd love to find one (whole motor) in a junkyard.

Sirius Turbo?

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone knows anything about the G63 Sirius Turbo wide block motors? I pulled a motor out of a mighty max pickup and on the valve cover it said sirius turbo. I didn't pay much attention since there was no turbo routed in the exhaust, I just figured it might be a jdm ...

Hi guys! Found this place after searching for a rwd tranny conversion for my 4G63 73 celica project car. I've owned 3 dsm's since 91 and still have the original 91 as my daily driver. I see there's a wealth of knowledge here and some pretty cool people too.
