Heres my 4g63 rwd project I have been working on. The car is an 89 coupe. Using Bill Hincher's adapter kit to mount the 4g to a turbo 400. Motor is stock for now, but will have plenty of parts to make big power, or blow it to hell.  Plan to use basic fox body suspension stuff and an average build up of the 8.8. Not looking to be the fastest, just want to have fun drag racing.
The motor is a little further forward that I would like, but theres not much I could have done short of doing serious fab work. The sump in the 4g's oil pan hits the steering rack and won't go any further back. The plus side is plenty of room for coolant/cas stuff and transmission servicing. I don't think it will hurt the overall balance of the car really, because the front of the block is still about where the 302 would be.
For the motor mounts I used the stock mustang mounts (trimmed up) and welded rectangular tubing to a 1/4" plate which bolts to the block. I will probably trim up the 1/4" plate a little bit since most of it is not even contacting the block. I also plan to incorporate a front motor mount/brace using the factory mounting location in the frame for the crash bumper and the mounting holes where the driver side mount normally goes on a dsm.
I could have used the stock trans crossmember and just shimmed the tailshaft up but wheres the fun in that?
Pretty soon I'll be getting started on the intercooler pipes/exhaust, and then move on with whatever parts I find good deals on. |

| I'm sure there's plenty of room for a nice V-mount radiator/intercooler setup. The 4G63 looks tiny in there! |

| Looks good Make sure you finish it! Ive seen many fox body 4g63s abandoned over the past couple of years Damit I wana see one run LOL looks like your on the right path keep up the nice work and let us know if you need anything your in the right place. |

| Thanks for the comments. I've got a pretty good idea in my head how I want to do things but I'm sure I will have some questions as I progress. Right now I just want to try and focus on certain parts of the car to complete before moving on. Progress might not be as quick as I'd like because of the budget, but hopefully it will make passes before the end of next season. |

| I've ran the intercooler pipes, and built some radiator mounting brackets for the aftermarket Griffin radiator. I could have just used the stock style radiator if the intercooler I have had side exit inlet/outlets. I haven't really touched the car all winter otherwise. I am about to get back to it though, now that the weather is nice. I plan to finish the cooling system first (route hoses, weld on -an fittings, etc.) then move on to the exhaust. I'll post pics when I get the cooling system done. |

Heres a few pics that show some progress. Used -16an lines for the water lines, with a custom thermostat cap and the Jay Racing water pump fitting. Used scrap 3" exhaust pipe I had laying around for the exhaust. Hoping to finish up before the earth runs out of crude oil.

Cool project! One thing concerns me- will the -16 water hoses flow enough?
Has this been done before?

| Thanks for the interest. As far as I know, lots of people have used -16 line for the main water lines on 4g's without any trouble. Hopefully it works out ok. |

Some guys have even used -12 lines with the 4g63, but those applications were race-only. Looks good Patrick, kep the pics coming. |

Not much except for getting the fuel cell 90% mounted. Using a summit 8 gallon cell in the spare tire well in the trunk. Progress is slow because I'm a candyass who hates working on a project car outside with no garage. |
